PE at MySchool
Personal, social, and physical education is an integral part of learning and teaching in the International Baccalaureate (IB) program and is embodied in the attributes of the IB learner profile that permeate the program and represent the characteristics of active, internationally-minded learners and lifelong learners.
Personal, social and physical education in the International Baccalaureate (IB) program is concerned with the well-being of the individual by promoting and developing concepts, knowledge, attitudes and skills that contribute to achieving this well-being. Well-being is inherently linked to all aspects of a student’s experience in and out of school; it includes physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, social and developmental health, and contributes to self-understanding, development and maintenance of relationships with others, and participation in an active and healthy lifestyle.
As students of MySchool, we seek to understand our life and the world around us by creating meaning, exploring concepts, cultivating understanding, and adopting positive attitudes towards learning.
MySchool is keen to activate the concepts and philosophy of teaching and learning of the International Baccalaureate Organization (IB) in its Primary years (PYP) and Middle years (MYP) by developing and applying critical and creative thinking strategies, working on engaging its students in research, establishing connections, and applying new learning and skills in different contexts.
In order to support its students to become successful learners, MySchool is keen to let them understand how learning strengthens them, as well as to allow them to appreciate the value of their education and to take responsibility for it, to demonstrate flexibility and to develop independence, to be able to reflect on themselves, their experiences, and the learning process to support their personal development and continued commitment to personal, social and physical well-being.
Latest competitions and events (internal / external):
In coordination with the Ministry of Education supervisors of physical education and sports events, MySchool held the chess competition festival for private schools in the Governorate of Muscat under the patronage of His Excellency Hilal bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al-Sarmi.
The participation of MySchool students in all sports competitions (Sports Day / Scouting Camps / Festivals / Football / Basketball / Badminton / Volleyball / Swimming / Individual and Team Athletics …,) and all the sports and community activities of the Ministry of Sports Affairs, community institutions ( Local / international).
